There are many things we can dread from day to day. The property tax bill coming. A colonoscopy. Your Netflix binge ending.
One thing that should bring unbridled joy (or at least a lack of dread) is working with your graphic designer. This isn’t a root canal; this is fun.
This is written for those who have not worked with a graphic designer before, because I have seen trepidation in the eyes of the un-initiated. We all can have a bit of apprehension trying something new, but really? Graphic design?
Let me break this down for you. Working with me will not cause physical pain or emotional distress. Just the opposite. While yes, you will likely have a bit of homework, and maintaining schedules helps to meet your deadlines, there is all of this to look forward to:
1. We get to talk about and work on things that are important to YOU. Your business. Your product. Your nonprofit. It’s all you, all the time.
2. Good design work means you get something lovely at the end of your journey.
3. All that great work you do in the world will now look professional and smart and inviting to those you’re hoping to attract.
4. We get to look at cool images/designs/photos/visuals for days.
5. My Pantone color swatch book.
I’ve seen that for my clients, one of the biggest bonuses is they get to use parts of their brain that don’t get much exercise. I’m not saying you’re doing the heavy lifting; that’s my responsibility. But when you are engaging in creativity and speaking in terms of visuals and colors, it just feels good. And different. Dare I say fun?
This information is just one point in my “10 Essentials for a Great Relationship with your Graphic Designer.” Email me here to request it, and I’m happy to send it out.
If you and I haven’t worked together yet, why not? Have you had a not-so-fun design experience and there is lingering PTSD? Email or call me at 561.578.7019 to schedule something great.
