Although I truly have no idea what day it is, I wanted to write. You see, I’m leaving soon for a conference in New Orleans, from Sunday until Tuesday. And THEN, my husband, our daughters, their boyfriends, and five other couples from around the country will be joining me in NOLA for Jazz Fest to celebrate my husband’s birthday.

At least that was the plan.

Like many of you, my spring has been derailed. Yes, I’m grateful I’m not sick, I’ve got food, our Comcast bill is paid. But we’re allowed to be disappointed, right? I mean, I can adult with the best of you, but I’m not gonna lie: I’m super bummed. This was going to be an epic trip.

But here’s the thing: we’re keeping our fingers crossed that Jazz Fest will be rescheduled, and the conference is STILL HAPPENING. At. My. House. 🙂

The Being Boss Conference made the kick-ass decision to still hold their conference, but safely and virtually. So all of the keynotes, panel sessions, breakouts and creative activities are taking place over a three-day period and I’m stoked.

Will it be the same? Nope. Will I meet other Bosses in one of my favorite places (where I spent my first two years of college, but transferred, because, let’s be real, who can make it through four years of college in New Orleans)? Not in person, but online, a resounding YES! I’ve been prepping, studying the speakers, deciding which workshops I’m going to take and was very excited to get my swag bag in the mail yesterday. My calendar is marked off for three days at a conference, and I will be honoring this.

What has derailed for you during this time? Work events? Long-planned trips? We’re all dealing with a lot of anxiety, trepidation and disappointment, but I know you’re also accepting, adapting, and magically thriving. I’d love to hear from you what you’re doing to stay connected and creative. Reach out at cheryl@sweetboodesign with what you’re doing and I’d love to share some of your stories in my next email.

Stay creative, stay positive, stay healthy. Laissez les bon temps rouler.
