You can feel things changing, right?

We appear to be coming out of our hibernating quarantine; slowly, hopefully, and dare I say, timidly?

Like many of you, I’ve spent the last 13 months primarily in one place. An exciting day involved numerous rings of the doorbell for deliveries, and if I was really feeling it, a run to Target or the library. It seemed endless, at first, then sort of, well . . . .nice. I never considered myself a homebody, but COVID has me reclassified. While I’m excited to travel again, see live music again, and GO TO THE MOVIES again, I am also really OK with being at home. And I do love me some fierce high heels, but also not.

I’ve also been reading more, making art more, playing the piano more, napping more, and not-attending-unnecessary-things more. I like this, and don’t want to lose this. So what do you say we make a pact that we don’t go full throttle back to our old normal of “crazy busy” because I’ve realized that “busy” isn’t so important, just “crazy.”

Without the crazy, I’m more centered. My work is better. I trust in my creativity more. I’m waaaaaaay happier. I love being around people, and can’t wait to meet again in person, but I don’t need to say yes to every request, opportunity or invitation. I will always be responsible but realize that quality over quantity works better for me.

Are you excited to get back into the great, big world? Are you re-entering with a different mindset? Please share. We’ve been physically separated but nevertheless connected.
