Big changes around here. Child number two has flown the coop and the nest is now empty. There’s a lot to adjust to.
When you’re used to being in a certain routine, for say, 18 years or so, it can be tough to adapt. But how you respond to change says everything about you, whether it be in your personal or professional life. It’s important to use these opportunities as times of reflection and growth.
So I think it’s time for me to look at what I can do with my business now that I’m at this new stage in my life. With less afternoon distractions (dance rehearsals, school meetings and doctors appointments) an uninterrupted workday can happen. Don’t get me wrong . . . I’ve loved having the flexibility to dictate my schedule. But I’m more open now to when I can see clients and if I’m in the middle of a particularly creative spurt, I don’t have to cut it short. Structure and predictability are now oddly appealing.
