Like many of you, I focused quite a bit last week on my blessings throughout the Thanksgiving celebration. In the tradition of David Letterman, I decided to share my Top 10 reasons for #gratitude.
1. MY FAMILY. I know, everyone is. But seriously. My husband, daughters, parents and in-laws are AMAZING and we have supported each other in all the best ways through a difficult year.
2. MY NEW HOUSE. After we sold our first Florida home six years ago, we were more than happy to call someone else to fix and pay for things that went wrong in a rental. We loved this rental, but decided earlier this year to buy again. We now love our pink house and our 33410 zip code.
3. THE CHALKBOARD METHOD AND BEING BOSS. At the end of last year, I started an intense course with Braid Creative (whom I found through the podcast Being Boss) to focus on Sweet Boo Design and determine the clients I could best serve. At the same time, I was using The Chalkboard Method to hold space for these clients. Guess what; it worked.
4. TIMELY APP. I’ve always been good at keeping track of my time working on projects, but decided it was time to step up my game. This app makes it super easy, super efficient, and billing is a breeze.
5. AVOCADOS.
6. ST. GEORGE’S CENTER. In a year which has shown terrible hate, I love being in a place that shows tremendous faith. Feeding others nourishes me.
7. PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATIONS. There are so many amazing organizations in Palm Beach County, and I’m excited to be co-chairing committees with two of the best, Leadership Palm Beach County and the Women’s Foundation of Florida. Being involved on a deeper level has strengthened connections for me with the best and brightest in my area. I also love that Creative Mornings is now in Palm Beach. #cmpb.
8. GIRLFRIENDS. Nothing replaces the love, laughs and support of friends who know you deeply and love you anyway. I have several categories (business friends, support friends, creative friends, Kindergarten friends, neighborhood friends, politics-talking friends) and they are all precious. And hilarious.
9. NETFLIX. Orange Is The New Black, Master of None, Ozark, Bloodline, Gypsy, 13 Reasons Why, Narcos and (sigh) House of Cards. I might have a better tan if the shows weren’t so good.
